Best Ever Year for NRA
New Homes Boost For North East London
The North River Alliance (NRA) has started on site on just under 500 affordable homes in 2010/11. The homes will help tackle housing need in North and East London.
Colin Archer Director of Development at Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association, the lead member of the Alliance said
“We are delighted that we have been able to start so many new homes this year. The NRA had a target of developing 1000 new homes over the last three years and we have exceeded this by some 121 homes. We would like to thank all our new and existing partners including local authorities, our contractors and consultants for making this possible.
We remain committed to working with our partners to resolve the issues thrown up by the new funding regime for social housing to be introduced in April. We are dedicated to helping those most in housing need. That is why we have commissioned POD consultants to advise on appropriate rent levels for the new programme.”
