Bid for Better
Would you like to change something about where you live?
The Residents’ Forum has been running ‘Bid for Better’, over the last two years.
It works like this – we as the Residents’ Forum have been given control of a pot of money, which residents can bid for to improve communal areas.
Money has been awarded for projects such as:
- Refurbishing gardens (Richmond Road) to make the environment more attractive
- A hand rail (Beaver House) to improve access and safety
-
Additional notice boards (St Mary’s Path Estate) to let people know what is going on with the Tenants’Association
- A brick built barbeque (Queensbridge Road) to enable residents to socialise by cooking together outdoors in the Summer
If you want to get hold of some of the bid money, all you have to do is:
- Think of something that would improve your communal areas: perhaps some benches, plants, children’s games etc. Something that you and your neighbours will all benefit from.
- Ask your neighbours if they are interested in your idea too. Your Tenancy Services Manager can help you put together a form for neighbours to collect their views and any comments.
- Fill in a short application form – again your Tenancy Services Manager can help you or you can download it below.
