Coronavirus Information

Coronavirus information

We continue to monitor the daily updates on COVID-19 (coronavirus) from the government and the NHS as well as the advice from Public Health England

If you are self-isolating or have a confirmed case of coronavirus you must tell us as soon as possible if you have an appointment for someone from ISHA to visit you. Please contact us by calling 0300 131 7300.

If you have a medical condition which makes you extremely vulnerable to Coronavirus/Covid-19, you can register with the government to let them know you need support. Visit their website to register on your own behalf or for someone else.

Contacting ISHA

You can continue to contact us using our email address isha@isha.co.uk . If you are self-isolating, you should always let us know, but particularly if we have an appointment booked with you. Let us know how long you will be in self-isolation.

We are currently receiving an increased number of calls from concerned residents. If you are able to contact us via email instead this will allow urgent calls to get through.

Our office is currently closed to protect you, our staff and other people. Please email us instead on isha@isha.co.uk. Every email will be acknowledged within one working day.

If you do need to urgently call us, you can contact ISHA on 0300 131 7300.

Financial difficulty

We know that these are extraordinary times. We want to help you to reduce any unnecessary stress, and support you to remain in your home. Some residents are experiencing financial hardship because of a reduction in their income. If this applies to you, you may be able to apply for benefits to support you through this period. We are happy to help you with this by providing any advice or support we can.

In the meantime, we need you to continue to pay your rent so that we can continue to support you and our other residents. If this is going to be difficult for you, or you are unable to pay the full rent at this time, please get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can work with you to agree a payment arrangement. You can contact us at isha@isha.co.uk

Nobody in an ISHA home will be evicted due to coronavirus. This promise has also been made by the National Housing Federation, the body that represents all housing associations, and backed up by the Government.

Advice on COVID-19 and self-isolation

What to do if you are self-isolating or have a suspected case of coronavirus

If you are self-isolating or have a confirmed case of coronavirus you must tell us as soon as possible if you have an appointment for someone from ISHA to visit you. Please contact us by emailing isha@isha.co.uk

Minimising the spread of infection

COVID-19 is believed to spread similarly to flu: tiny droplets can be transmitted if someone with the virus coughs or sneezes near to someone else, or if someone touches a contaminated object before touching their own mouth, nose or eyes.

One of the most important and effective things everyone can do to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 is to wash hands frequently, thoroughly (for at least 20 seconds), and with soap and hot water. Hand-washing facilities are available in every flat and in communal areas.

The advice to everybody from the Government is to stay at home, limit contact with others to the essential, and stay at least two metres away from other people.

For the latest advice, you should check gov.uk and the NHS website.

If you have symptoms of COVID-19

Signs of infection include a persistent cough, difficulty breathing and/or a high temperature.

In accordance with Government advice, if you have any of these symptoms, you should self-isolate (stay at home, away from other people).  Please check the NHS website for details on isolation periods, as this varies depending on individual circumstances, and changes from time to time.

If your symptoms worsen during self-isolation, or are no better after seven days, contact NHS 111 online. If you don’t have internet access, you should call NHS 111. For a medical emergency dial 999.

Please remember to tell us if you or anyone in your household has a confirmed case of Coronavirus or is self-isolating; this is so we can respond appropriately.

Support for vulnerable residents

Our staff are calling our most vulnerable residents and those over 70 years old to offer ISHA’s support during isolation, and to signpost to other services that may be able to help them with specific issues. Local councils are also co-ordinating support efforts in your local area.

If you are aged over 70, have an underlying medical condition, or are vulnerable, let us know and a member of our team will call you back.

Update your contact details

We will be updating residents using email and text as the situation changes. If we do not have your up-to-date contact details, or you’re not sure, email us with your name, address and mobile/email details so we can make sure you receive the latest information.

What happens next?

As the situation continues to change, we are making every effort to minimise the spread of infection while continuing to support our customers in the most effective way possible.

We are continually monitoring the situation and our response in accordance with the latest Government guidelines. Your safety is our primary concern.
