On Wednesday 6 October the uplift scheme of an additional £20 per week for people on universal credit (UC) or working tax credits ended. For anyone who receives universal credit or working tax credits, this is a significant loss in income. The exact date the additional £20 will stop being paid will vary depending on which day you usually receive universal credit. Claiming universal credit is not straightforward, especially with the combination of housing costs, disability related costs, child-related costs and personal living costs.
