Market rent We rent a small number of properties at market rent. This means we rent the property at the same rate as private landlords. We use the income from market rent to support other projects, and tenants who rent this way benefit from our experience as a long-established social housing landlord. Market rents are not subsidised, and you do not need to register with your local authority to rent these properties. Anyone in full-time employment who can afford the rent may apply for one of our market-rented homes. Type and length of the tenancy agreement Market rent customers sign a 12-month assured shorthold tenancy (AST) agreement with us. After 12 months, the tenancy can be renewed for a further 12 months, subject to the landlord (ISHA) and tenant agreeing to this. Where to find our market rent properties Local estate agents advertise our market-rent properties. All our available properties will be advertised through Chestertons estate agents based in Upper Street, Islington. More information For more information about our market rent, call 0300 131 7300.
