Barrett’s Grove: A new chapter for affordable living
ISHA proudly marked the beginning of construction of 25 new homes in Hackney on Tuesday, with a special bricklaying ceremony. The development at Barrett’s Grove brings 21 affordable homes and four for shared ownership to Hackney. All made possible through collaboration with the London Borough of Hackney and the Greater Lonon Authority. Ruth Davison, ISHA Chief Exec said: “Scandalously 1 in 20 of London’s children live in temporary accommodation. Building homes is therefore imperative – a place of your own shouldn’t be a pipe dream. That’s why despite the enormous costs of building in London, ISHA is committed to delivering for North London and thrilled these 25 homes are underway.” Built by Helix Group, the homes are a mix of one, two and three-bedroom flats, including some built specifically to be wheelchair accessible. Nic Davies, Helix Group CEO said: “We are delighted to be working alongside ISHA to deliver this new affordable housing project. This project reflects our commitment to building communities and providing quality homes for those who need them most”. We are proud to work alongside a partner who shares our values of responsible development and community engagement. Jerome Geoghegan, ISHA Development Director said: “Today’s event represents the culmination of meticulous planning and a steadfast commitment to delivering new housing. We are proud to be able to help people join and create communities in Hackney.” Barrett's Grove boasts a state-of-the-art design featuring air source heat pumps, ensuring energy efficiency without compromising the building's aesthetics Construction is well underway, and is on track for completion in November 2025, ready to provide a springboard for a brighter future for many families.
