Employment and training

Steps into Work

Council-led service for people over 18 who are: unemployed, a Waltham Forest resident, eligible to work, have recourse to public funds and have a valid a UK national insurance number.  Services include: help with CVs, application forms and job-searching; mock interviews and confidence-building; training, access to job vacancies and apprenticeships; mentoring support and in-work coaching.

To register you will need a valid passport or British birth certificate, proof of address (must be no older than three months) and proof of national insurance number

Peabody Employment and Training Centres

Free one-to-one advice for everyone, including non-Peabody residents, who are aged 16+, unemployed and looking for work and have the right to work in the UK.  Help with job searches, CVs, application forms and interview preparation; workshops to improve job-specific skills and knowledge; access to job vacancies through local employers
