Jerome Geoghegan appointed as ISHA's new Director of Development

Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association (ISHA) is delighted to announce the appointment of Jerome Geoghegan as its new Director of Development. Jerome succeeds Janet Mussington, who retires following an illustrious career in housing development, which began at North Islington and Hackney HA and took on senior roles, amongst others, at Sanctuary and ISHA. ISHA Chief Executive Ruth Davison said: "While we bid farewell to Janet and her phenomenal impact on our organisation, we are thrilled to welcome Jerome. His extensive background in housing development is a tremendous asset for us, especially as ISHA moves beyond its 90th year with ambitions of furthering our mission in North London. Jerome's expertise arrives at a crucial moment, reinforcing our commitment to building homes for the communities we exist to serve." Jerome Geoghegan brings more than 35 years of experience in the development and real estate sectors to ISHA. In his career, he focused on mixed-use urban schemes, partnerships, regeneration projects and affordable housing, positions him as a key figure in advancing ISHA's development initiatives. He said: "Joining ISHA is both an honour and an exciting new chapter for me. ISHA's dedication to building homes and communities aligns with my professional ethos. I'm eager to contribute to creating quality, affordable housing and continuing ISHA's tradition of punching above its weight as a small-to-medium sized association with a significant output in social housing. “Last year alone, ISHA was responsible for building 0.5% of all social homes in England, a testament to its efficiency, expertise, passion and impact in the sector. I’m looking forward to continuing that.” Jerome expressed enthusiasm over the recent success of the North River Alliance (NRA) consortium, led by ISHA, in securing £15.7 million through the GLA Affordable Housing Programme to build 105 homes across North London. This achievement not only underscores the strength of collaborative efforts within the housing sector but also opens doors for further funding and development opportunities. The planned projects in Islington, Waltham Forest and Hackney will feature a mix of Social Rent, London Living Rent, and Shared Ownership homes, with construction commencing this financial year. ISHA, along with other NRA members has successfully developed more than 3,500 homes in nearly two decades. This past year's completion of key developments in Islington and Waltham Forest highlights ISHA's ongoing commitment to providing welcoming communities and affordable homes to residents. ISHA looks forward to the contributions Jerome will bring to the team, driving forward the mission to deliver more homes and foster vibrant communities in North and North East London.
