Happy Lunar New Year!

Lunar New Year as celebrated in China, is also called Seollal in Korea and Tết in Vietnam. It begins on Wednesday 29 January and sets off two weeks of parties, traditional customs, feasts, and fireworks.

This is the Year of the Snake, which symbolises renewal and regeneration, shedding bad energy and bringing about transformation.

Community of Refugees from Vietnam is celebrating Lunar New Year with joy this Sunday.

Many of our residents participate in community activities and weekly lunches held by the community group. We're proud to support their Lunar New Year Celebration with a donation, which will involve tasty Vietnamese cuisine followed by a lively dragon dance with traditional music.

Chuong, one of our Outreach & Support Officers, and is originally from Vietnam himself. He's been busy promoting the gathering to our residents and getting them involved in the festive fun.
